Fall Club
Every fall, Discovery Western offers a co-ed weekend Engineering club for students in Grades 3-8. Below is an outline of our 2022 activities.
Fall Club 2022 will run in-person at Western University. All participants must adhere to the current Western University COVID-19 vaccination policy and safety protocols.
- Grades 3-5 class: 10am-12pm
- Week 1: Acid Attack
- Week 2: Cue Around the World
- Week 3: CoSpaces Gravity Simulation
- Grades 6-8 class: 1:00pm-3:00pm
- Week 1: DIY Ice Cream
- Week 2: LEGO Activate Communications
- Week 3: Micro:bit Trundle Wheel
Note: Activity topics are subject to change.
Fall Club runs for three Saturdays in-person at Western University. This year sessions will run September 10, 17, and 24. The cost for the program is $60.
Our Engineering Fall club focuses on the following engineering streams: civil, chemical, software, computer, and mechanical engineering. Each participant receives a certificate to mark the occasion.

Western University COVID-19 Health and Safety Procedures
The following measures have been put in place to support the health and safety of participants and staff, on or off campus:
- Participants must be five years of age or older
- All participants and staff must be fully vaccinated to participate/work. Fully vaccinated means an individual has received:
- the full series of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by Health Canada, or any combination of such vaccines,
- one or two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine not authorized by Health Canada, followed by one dose of a COVID-19 mRNA vaccine authorized by Health Canada, or
- three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine not authorized by Health Canada; and they received their final dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at least 14 days before providing the proof of being fully vaccinated.
- Staff will scan and verify vaccine certificates before a camper can participate
- Participants and staff must complete a COVID-19 self-assessment each day before coming to campus
- *Effective June 29, 2022 masking is no longer required indoors at Western; however, Western will still provide medical grade (ASTM level 3) masks for all participants and staff – including a proper supply of paediatric sized masks for those who choose to continue wearing mask indoors
- Proper hand hygiene will be encouraged – frequent hand washing/sanitizing
