Winter (Girl's) Club

At Discovery Western, we are proud of our tradition of promoting the participation of young women in engineering. One of our premier programs in this area is our Winter Girl's Club. 

Girl's Club will run for six Saturdays in-person at Western University. This year sessions will run from January 14 to February 25 (with no program on February 18 due to the Family Day holiday). The cost for the program is $120. We would like to make this program as accessible as possible, so if you require financial assistance to email our office, at discover@uwo.ca, for more information on available bursaries.

 

2023 Schedule

2023 Girl's Club will be running in-person at Western University.

  • Grades 3-5 class: 10am - 12pm
    • Week 1: Top Secret Artwork
    • Week 2: Makey Makey a Rock Band
    • Week 3: Waterproof Clothes
    • Week 4: LEGO Robots on the Moon
    • Week 5: Capture the Fairy
    • Week 6: Magnetic Dancing Slime
  • Grades 6-8 class: 1:00pm - 3:00pm
    • Week 1: Textile Art Pins
    • Week 2: Fortune Telling Dice
    • Week 3: Filtration Station
    • Week 4: LEGO Robots on the Moon
    • Week 5: Heavy Lifting with Pneumatics
    • Week 6: OzoDice Games

Activity topics are subject to change, but we will still provide you with all the materials you need to participate. 

Note: Western Engineering Outreach Just for Girls programs are inclusive of all participants identifying as female.
